Ioanna Sapidou joined our firm as an associate in 2011, after having completed her legal training with us. Her principal areas of practice comprise Corporate and Commercial Law as well as Consumer Protection Law. In this regard, she regularly reviews customer and supplier agreements, distributorships and standard terms and conditions, and advises on internet and e-commerce legal issues, as well as advertising and marketing practices.

Ioanna also deals with Cyprus and EU Competition law, where she advises on all aspects of merger control, state aid and antitrust investigations. She has previous competition law experience at DG Competition of the European Commission where she has undertaken a professional placement and gained a valuable insight into the work of the DG on a number of high-profile cases.

She further advises on all aspects of data protection and privacy regulation at both national and EU level, including drafting and reviewing privacy policies, monitoring and whistle-blowing schemes. She also assists with obtaining the necessary licenses for cross-border data transfers and with all related regulatory compliance matters.
