Within this field of practice, we recognise the importance of listening, understanding, and then acting with the utmost discretion and care, the focus of our approach being to minimise as far as possible the emotional and financial costs associated with what is, frequently, a stressful time for those involved.

Our lawyers who specialise and practise in the field of family law are experienced litigators, as well as negotiators – both necessary qualities for achieving successful outcomes in this area of law. It is notable that in July 2011, our firm managed to secure, for the very first time in the Republic of Cyprus, an Order mirroring the provisions of an Interim Order issued by the English High Court of Justice, Family Division, preventing a Respondent from transferring, alienating and/or encumbering marital assets which were the subject matter of a multi-million dispute between ex-spouses.

Partner Georgia Georgiou heads our firm’s family law practice; with over 20 years experience in this area, she is a seasoned litigator, and deals with a variety of complex and multi-jurisdictional divorce cases, but is especially experienced in dealing with cases of child abduction and custody, access (contact), maintenance and care disputes. Senior associate Victoria-Zoi Papagiannis is also involved with spousal disputes and divorce, and especially with the issuance of ancillary relief for the prevention of marital asset dissipation. In October 2010, she represented our firm at the Family Law symposium hosted by leading UK firm Schillings, the focus of which was on the management of ''International/multi-jurisdictional divorces'', with particular regard to legal issues pertaining to high-value financial claims, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, child maintenance, interim relief and the preservation of privacy during divorce proceedings.
