The firm’s dedicated Banking and Finance department efficiently handles the increasingly complex and time-critical requirements of international high-value financing or refinancing transactions, including project financing, syndicated, subordinated and mezzanine financing, ship financing and related securities such as share pledges, floating charges, financial collateral, mortgages etc.

We regularly advise on the compliance of new and existing banking products and payment solutions with current legislation; on banking regulatory and licensing requirements; on bankers’ custodian agreements, ISDA agreements and related products; asset preservation and security enforcement and procedures.  In this respect, the firm has extensive experience in drafting or modifying agreements or other instruments used by banks in their operations, so as to ensure that they comply with current legislation and regulations.

The firm’s litigation team deals on an everyday basis with debt collection and security enforcement cases on behalf of both local and international banks, by obtaining judgments in favour of banks and then by taking all necessary execution measures in order to collect the debt (such as filing writs of movables, memos, applications to collect the debt with monthly installments, applications of bankruptcy etc). 

The firm is the main legal advisor to Societe Generale Bank - Cyprus Limited, Barclays Bank PLC (Cyprus) and USB Bank PLC (ex Universal Bank Public Limited), but also acts as additional legal adviser for the majority of the banks operating in Cyprus, including Hellenic Bank and Hellenic Finance.
